March 2007 - Local Singer / Songwriter Andy Yeadon Raises Money

Andy Yeadon raises money for the appeal through a gig in church supported by Classical Guitarist Paul Croft.

 

January 2007 - Forgotten Trust gives Church a headstart for fundraising

A Trust fund which contained only £1500 has rocketed in value to £43,000 ater the church forgot about it for 60 years.

December 2006 - The Development Appeal is Launched

First Steps - November 2006

The appeal is to be launched formally on Sunday 3rd December 2006. Click here for full details of the St Mary's Barnard Castle Development Appeal.

£500,000 is required to make significant improvements to the church building in key areas e.g..

Accessibility

alterations to pews and pew platforms in the Nave, Aisles and North Transept.

  • Creating bays for wheelchairs and buggies
  • Lowering the floor of St. Margaret's Chapel

Installation (and relocation) of a new digital organ as a fitting accompaniment to services and concerts and create more gathering space.

Replacement of the heating system and many other improvements required for the 21st Century.
