Holy Marriage at St Mary's

Congratulations on your engagement and best wishes as you plan your wedding day.

If you are considering arranging a service at either of our two churches then please contact the Vicar (Rev. Alec Harding 637018) as soon as possible. Marriage law is fairly complicated but if either the bride or bridegroom live within the parish (or worship at one of our churches) then arranging a wedding should be fairly straightforward.

More information:

If you both live outside the parish but one of you has strong connections to either Barnard Castle or Whorlton then it might be possible to arrange for your wedding to take place in the parish churches but we would need to talk this through with you.

We are willing to re-marry divorcees in exceptional circumstances but can only make a decision to do so after extensive consultation with the couple. It is important that those seeking marriage in church after a divorce should consult the clergy well before choosing a date for their wedding. Contact us
