Joining a congregation helps us to belong, to get to know others and to become part of the Christian story in this place. We find that belonging and believing go together. You can attend any of our church services. Our congregations worship in different ways and have different personalities.
You are more than welcome to join us for worship

St. Mary’s is open for private prayer each weekday from 10.00am – 4.00pm. (These arrangements are subject to change in the event of a funeral in church)
Our service pattern is currently:
This service is for 'early birds' who prefer a quieter more traditional style of worship. This service currently uses the language of the Book of Common Prayer and lasts about 35 minutes
This hour long service involves music and either our robed choir, praise band or other musicians alongside our church organ. The service is usually one of Holy Communion. We gather after the service for refreshments which are served in church.
Village worship at St. Mary’s Whorlton takes place once or twice a month. Our usual pattern is that on the second Sunday of the month the service is at 9.00am and uses the traditional form of Morning Prayer. On the fourth Sunday of the month the service is at 4.00pm and uses the Common Worship (contemporary) service of Holy Communion. Our calendar of services aims to celebrate the main Christian festivals and to mark key moments in the church year.
We're currently offering Morning Prayer on Zoom at 9.00am on Wednesday mornings.
Not everyone can attend Sunday worship. Our Wednesday congregation gather for half an hour before heading off shopping!
